Bupa UK – Product Design for Accessible Healthcare Journeys
Background
As a Product Designer working on Bupa.co.uk, I support a wide range of healthcare journeys across B2C, B2B, Care Homes, Clinics, and Health Services. Operating within a large, regulated healthcare environment, our team focuses on continuously improving the website to ensure it is clear, accessible, and trustworthy for diverse user needs. My work prioritises user-centred and mobile-first design, informed by data insights, accessibility standards, and industry best practices. The goal is to simplify complex health-related content and journeys, while balancing user needs, business objectives, and technical constraints across multiple digital touchpoints.
Duties
- Designed and improved end-to-end user journeys on Bupa.co.uk, balancing user needs, business goals, and regulatory constraints
- Collaborated closely with UX researchers, content designers, product managers, and engineers to shape user-centred solutions from discovery through to delivery
- Embedded accessibility and inclusive design principles into day-to-day product work, ensuring experiences meet WCAG standards
- Used data, insights, and feedback to inform design decisions and iterate on live experiences
- Facilitated kick-off sessions and design discussions to translate business objectives into clear, user-focused problem statements
